Why is it Worth Starting Piano Lessons with Eva Lorenc?

  • Simply because, after completing MŮJ KLAVÍR (MY PIANO), children will be well-rounded both musically and technically, and thus be well-prepared for further piano study.
  • The author, Eva Lorenc, is an experienced piano teacher, founder of the private Piano School Prague, and also the creator of the successful online piano project Procházka světem klavíru (A Walk Through the World of Piano) (www.evalorenc.cz). Her online courses have been completed by thousands of enthusiastic students of all ages, from 5-year-old children to adults.
  • Eva Lorenc's professional approach guarantees that the meticulously developed concept of elementary piano teaching will be effective. Her piano school is primarily designed for children aged 5–7, but it can also be adapted to suit younger or older children as needed.
  • MŮJ KLAVÍR offers a significant enrichment of the current selection of beginner piano schools. It can be used comprehensively or as a supplement to popular methodological approaches and materials, adding new ideas and exercises.
  • As supplementary material to MŮJ KLAVÍR, online audio recordings of all exercises and pieces are available.

The Teaching of MŮJ KLAVÍR is Divided into Four Thematic Parts:

  • Part 1 – Playing by Ear: Establishing correct basic piano habits; rhythm exercises, playing by pictures, developing the child's overall musicality; practical layout with the left side for the teacher and the right side for the student, featuring magical illustrations that support children's sensitivity and imagination.
  • Part 2 – Playing from Notation: A highly detailed gradual introduction to reading music, playing from notation with maximum support for aural imagination, initial exposure to polyphony and chords, including simple improvisation of accompaniments for folk songs and transposition.
  • Part 3 – Practical Exercises for Playing from Notation: Gaining practice in reading music through small, targeted exercises with a gradually expanding selection of notes; focused on developing fluent sight-reading and its translation into sound.
  • Part 4 – Repertoire: A musically diverse performance repertoire of new compositions written by the author and leading contemporary composers; designed to develop children's musical imagination and support creative interpretation. Composers include Zdeňka Sajdlová, Vartan Agopian, Zuzana Dřízalová, Miloš Orson Štědroň, Stanislav Poslušný, Jakub Metelka, Hana Suchánková, and Vsevolod Tokmakov.
